Yes, by popular demand the British Open returns to Quarry Park on 11-12th July, 2009. Once again we will be part of the PDGA Eurotour.

The Quarry Park club is pleased to welcome players and spectators to the most prestigious event on the British Disc Golf calendar. We cannot readily accommodate spectators for the preliminary rounds due to lack of parking and the fact that there are so many players on such a compact course. The good news is that we can accommodate spectators on the Sunday afternoon for the Open Final, which is scheduled from 14.45 to 16.00. The on-course parking will be available from 14.15. Please do not park on adjacent verges as this is really dangerous.

The favourite for the Open Championship is Ville Piippo from Finland, who is the reigning European and British Open Champion. Quarry Park Course Pro Derek Robins finished 3rd last year, and will be hoping to put in a strong challenge. The favourite in the Masters Division (40+) is Belgium's Marco Lehousse. Britains best chances of victory lie with Sue Underwood in the Womens Division, and Charlie Mead in the Grandmaster (50+) Division.
