Quarry Park has just turned 18 years old this month. It's incredible how quickly the time has passed and how much the course has matured. Where there was once bare pasture there are now established trees and shrubs, with the tallest reaching over 25m, in the woodland by the river. Every year we try to enhance the course, and improve the experience for our visitors. Back in 1994, I'm sure many people thought I was crazy to sink my savings into a sport that hardly anybody had heard of, but over the last 5 or 6 years the course has become really well established with thousands of people visiting each year. I'd like to say "Thank you" to everybody who has helped and encouraged me over the years, and to all the visitors whose fees have enabled me to make the improvements each year.
We are delighted to announce that the 2012 British Open Disc Golf Championships are to be held at Quarry Park on May 26-27th.
The invitation will soon be released and registration will be opened for players from the UK and abroad.
I am really excited to announce that you can now take a virtual tour of the course over the internet. Woo-hoo!!! It's similar to Google Streetview but 360 degree images were taken from atop an 8m mast at 3 points on the course. You can pan round and zoom in and out at your will.
I am delighted to announce that we have installed 7 new Innova Discatcher baskets at Quarry Park which combine with new tees and 9 existing baskets on the top level of the course, to make a 16 hole Pitch & Putt course.
We will be open for 3 extra days at half term: October 24, 25 and 26 (Monday to Wednesday). Otherwise, through Autumn and Winter our regular opening times are Saturdays and Sundays, when we open at 10:00 and close at either 6 p.m. or sunset (if earlier)
