There is a "league" running on Sunday mornings until 4th December, all welcome. It's organised by David and Norean Woodhead and details posted on the Quarry Park Facebook Group. Open to all players.
We have glow rounds on Tuesday evenings, it's the usual short course fee. We have glow discs for sale in the shop and a limited number available for hire. I'd suggest starting between 6:00 and 7.15pm, but you can start as early as 5pm if you let us know or if you are happy to turn the lights on.
Next to me, the two faces you are most likely to see at the course are Noah Smithson (practising his shots) and Ali Orr (staffing the course) They are now offering coaching, and posted the following message
"We are a brand new business based at Quarry Park. We will be providing coaching sessions and clinics throughout the offseason.Whether you’re a new player looking to develop solid fundamentals or a competitor striving for tournament success, we can provide the support to facilitate your improvement on the course. Check out our website for details
The evenings are getting shorter now, in fact each day the sunset will be 2 minutes earlier than the previous day, so bear that in mind when planning your visit. We have 2 tournaments taking place at the course. The first one is the UK Womens DG Championships on Saturday 17th September, and the UKWDGA encourage any women players to take part, there will be a wide range of abilities and all are welcome. You can sign up here The focus is on women, but there are also divisions for men. We are not expecting a large number of players, so both courses remain open to the public.
The second tournament is on 24-25th September, and is a Masters tournament with divisions for players born in 1982 or earlier. This will have more than 50 competitors, and so the long course will be closed to the public, but the short course remains open on both days. You can register here
There is also a regular "League" night on Tuesdays, run by Paul and David, details here These guys may well be starting regular glow golf sessions when the league ends. Lights are attached to the baskets and players play with discs that glow in the dark, or have LED lights attached. Great fun, and a great way to get some mid-week fresh air and exercise if you are couped up indoors during daylight hours.
The long course is reserved for tournament play on Saturday and Sunday. The short course will stay open to the public on Saturday, but closed on Sunday when it is used as part of the Championship 22.
